Happy Beltane!
If you’re a regular reader you’ll know I follow the Celtic calendar – which is a powerful template for creativity and innovation.
Beltane – or May Day – marks the mid point between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice, ushering in the lightest part of the year. The question for now is: Are you willing to be visible?
The winter months are a time of gestation and dreaming – going within to listen to your inner voice. On the surface not much seems to be happening and it can feel restrictive – yet it’s also cosy and safe to be with our ideas without risking putting them out in the world.
Now that we’re in high spring it’s time to step forward, take that risk and bring your ideas into the light.
What is the impulse that that keeps knocking at the door and asking you to birth it? The “stitch that is yours to sew?”
In my work with women I notice a particular fear of being visible and putting forth our ideas confidently. Do you find you can easily see the brilliance of others yet downplay it in yourself?
Are you held back by perfectionism, “I’m not ready”, self-criticism, taking care of others etc etc, so you bury your gifts and devalue them?
This Beltane I invite you to sit with the question: If I was not afraid, the thing I would like to bring into the light now is…?”
It might be as simple as sharing your idea with a colleague or a trusted group of friends, or taking just one step to move it forward. Now is the time!
