Athena is the goddess of wisdom and courage

Join us to:

  • Get clear on your purpose
  • Embrace ‘healthy power’
  • Learn to stay calm in the eye of the storm
  • Have your voice heard… and
  • Connect with a network of powerful women

Liz and Hetty

Why?

We see brilliant, talented women who hold themselves back from acting on their ideas, vision and ambition by believing they are not ready or not good enough.

Our world needs inspirational women who have the courage to act on their ideas.

Taking time out to reflect, reconnect and allow yourself to be seen in a supportive group will empower you to step up and take the lead.

Who is it for?

Designed for both senior and emerging leaders, you may be…

  • stepping up to greater responsibility
  • already leading a team or organisation
  • running your own venture
  • considering a transition to something different

What You Will Gain

Purpose

Get clear on your unique contribution to the world – build teams and organisations that are purpose led and values driven

Power

Understand ‘healthy power’ rooted within and learn to use it constructively – become a role model for others

Presence

Combine strength and warmth to create authentic presence and inspire others to act on your words

Resilience

Increase your capacity to bounce forwards from setbacks and flow around obstacles – build a culture where everyone can thrive

Confidence

Know your worth and build grounded confidence deep within – stand tall and instil confidence in others

Understanding

Understand the leader you wish to be and your impact – handle change and complexity better to empower others

The content of the course and the friendly, inclusive atmosphere confirmed for me that there are effective alternatives to the prevailing, macho style of leadership.  It gave me the confidence to step out of the impersonal, data-driven world of the multinational corporation and to start my own business
Hazel Polka

The course was an intensive and invigorating two days of reflection, practical advice and profound discussion… It has helped me to understand who I am and what is important to me… this has had a transformative impact on both my personal and professional life.
Sarah Giles
Acting Head of Corporate Development, National Theatre
Thanks to the course (and the women I met there) I’ve come back to work with the confidence to take my leadership to the next level. I couldn’t have hoped for more from just 2 days.

About the groups

We work with small groups of no more than 12 women so that you can enjoy deep conversations, get clear about your strengths and uncover what is holding you back.

We attract a diverse range of women from different backgrounds, and past participants include corporate lawyers, environmental activists, businesswomen, academics, charity CEOs, KCs, entrepreneurs, consultants, regulators, sportswomen and arts leaders. You’ll  step out of your silo and meet women you’d never normally meet – radically diversifying your professional network.

We include a mix of senior and emerging leaders at different ages and career stages to allow for multi-generational learning.

In-House

We also offer half day taster sessions to organisations, and can customise this programme to be run in-house.

Your Athena Guides

Alongside Liz and Hetty, you’ll be sharing the Athena experience with Tracey Fox – a leadership coach (Henley Business School) and mediator with over 20 years’ experience in supporting women leaders to flourish. She has led programmes for investment banks, professional services firms, global social media giants, NHS trusts, regulatory bodies and UN agencies.

Tracey has a Masters in organisational psychology, is a non-executive director of The Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, a visiting lecturer at the University of Westminster and is co-author of Mastering Negotiation (published by Bloomsbury).
